Remains of deceased family member stolen.

The City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is looking for the assistance of the public to find the person or persons responsible for a break, enter and theft that occurred yesterday afternoon, September 24, 2020.

Between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm a residence on Waite Road was broken into and a

number of items were stolen, including the remains of a deceased family member. The

remains were contained in a thick cardboard box wrapped in a dark red velvet bag with

gold drawstrings.  If observed contact police.

Additionally police are asking the public to provide information on any suspicious

vehicles or persons that were observed in the area of Ballyduff Road and Waite Road

between 2:30pm and 4:00pm.

Anyone having information on this crime is asked to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes

OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Information can also be reported anonymously by calling
